Today we would like to introduce Jan Brünjes, owner of the wakeboard and water ski park BLUEBAY, in Schiffdorf near Bremerhaven. He runs a large facility with attached beach gastronomy, adventure golf, water park and a lido with standup paddling since 2019.

INTERVIEW WITH JAN BRÜNJES

Jan is, so to speak, our "old hand" at BINARYTEC, because together with him we developed our cash register system CASSABOX, our access control system INTELLIAX and the online booking system "wakeparkmanager" especially for wakeparks.

The Wakeparkmanager is a system developed for wakeparks, with which the operators can make slots, courses, events, resources and much more bookable online. All three systems are interconnected and can thus map a smooth process from online booking, spatial and temporal access control to the cash register.

We asked Jan a few questions:
1. What products and to what extent do you use them?

I use CASSABOX, INTELLIAX and the wakeparkmanager. In addition, I have introduced the digital receipt of your partner anybill and the new SimpledPaid prepaid payment system some time ago.

It all started in 2019 with wakeparkmanager, then INTELLIAX access control was installed. We have access control in the entrance area to manage beach operations. Here there is a people and bike access controlled by INTELLIAX. At the wakeboard facility itself, there is also another access control in the form of a turnstile. Customers book their ticket online, which they then exchange for a ticket at the cash desk RFID-Medium With this they then have access to the booked areas and can also pay with it from now on.

The Prepaid payment SimpledPaid has been in use for two weeks now and we are already very excited about the feedback from our guests. Because this is a decisive further development that is very much in demand from customers and on the market.

At events, we work with a handheld device that we use to scan the QR codes on the ticket. In real time, we check whether the ticket is valid or has already been redeemed.

2. What was your biggest motivation for joining us?

Before the new operating site BLUEBAY Spadener See, I had already operated other wake parks with other systems for 20 years. Over the years, the topic of further development of cash register systems and access control became more and more important. We wanted to move away from isolated solutions to systems that work together. The contact to Ludwig and Ricardo was established during the website design. Together we started the further development of CASSABOX, INTELLIAX and wakeparkmanager. In the beginning we used the beta version and since then we have added many new features.

3. What do you enjoy most about our products?

As I said, there was a great deal of interest in moving away from isolated solutions. Now we have three systems that work together perfectly. The processes at the POS are fast and clear.
For the user as well as for the customer very intuitive and simple. We can easily and quickly offer the customer sales items of the gastronomy, the sports store, events, courses or similar. Thanks to the digital receipt from anybill, we also save huge amounts of paper. We use the customer display at the POS for promotions, but we would like to see a few more developments here.

4. What would you tell someone who is thinking about switching to our product?

Jan thinks about it: I would first ask what he wants to achieve with it. I would say to a colleague in the leisure sector, from soccer field with kiosk to versatile amusement park, that he gets a proper POS system with which he can offer everything. He can sell and display everything online. Further developments are triggered - all in all a comprehensive system that works great.

5. What three words would you use to describe our products?

Intuitive for customers and employees, clear, lots of potential

6. Nenne drei Dinge, die verbesserungswürdig sind:

Synchronisation Prepaid on – und offline – das sind immer nur kleinere Bugs und werden immer schnell gelöst. Im Kassenbericht wird gelegentlich eine Zuordnung falsch dargestellt, aber auch das wird immer im Handumdrehen gelöst.

7. What further development you would like to see:

"A whole bag full" agree Jan and his colleague, whom he still briefly asks about it over the PC 😊

For the water ski area, we would like to see a different solution for the access area. Preferably something that doesn't require an RFID medium at all. We have in mind a palm scanner, for example.

The interface between CASSABOX and wakeparkmanager still offers potential for improvement in the prepaid and voucher area. Our wish is to sell vouchers on and offline, which can then be used in both systems. In this way, we would also like to offer customers online top-up options. As far as I know, this is already on the development agenda and I look forward to its implementation.

It would be nice if statistics and evaluations were optimized and after-sales processes were available. And as mentioned earlier, we would like to see further developments for the customer display. It would be great if videos and sliders could be inserted. Currently we can set images and display ads, but in day-to-day business it is often difficult to keep them up to date.

8. Explain in one sentence what your conclusion is so far.

Since the first launch or first version, there has been rapid further development involving the systems, the hardware and also the developers 😉 The result is a great result that we work very well with. In addition, everyone has fun and enjoys working with it.
