As a responsible employer, it is important to know the legal regulations and take effective measures to ensure a smooth transition into the new year.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-nichtgenommener-urlaub\">Not taken holiday:<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your employees are legally entitled to paid holiday. It is in your company's interest to ensure that employees take their holidays on time to avoid overwork and bottlenecks at the end of the year. By law, leave days not taken expire on 31 December. As an employer, you should speak to your employees well in advance and encourage them to take unused holiday days before the end of the year. However, for operational or personal reasons, you can offer your employees the opportunity to use up their remaining leave by the end of March of the following year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-uberstunden\">Overtime work <\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Overtime may be unavoidable in certain phases of the financial year. It is important to keep track of the overtime worked and ensure that it is adequately compensated or offset by time off. If it is not possible to compensate for overtime by the end of the year, clear agreements should be made on how to deal with these hours in the coming year. This could, for example, be the possibility of a gradual reduction in overtime in the first few months of the new year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-minusstunden\">Minus hours<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes it happens that employees take more holiday than they actually have, or do not reach their target time for other reasons. As an employer, it is important to have transparent rules for dealing with minus hours. These can, for example, be offset by working overtime or a written agreement on gradual repayment. Offsetting against holiday days is not permitted. It is important that such regulations are in line with the statutory provisions and are clearly set out in the employment contract.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-kommunikation-ist-der-schlussel\">Communication is the key<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The key to a smooth turn of the year lies in open communication between employer and employees.
